Chatham, IL, April 12, 2024 – United Community Bank announced today that it has been named by S&P Global Market Intelligence as one of the Top 50 Community Banks in the U.S. with assets between $3B and $10B.

SPGlobalMarketIntelligence_Blk_Web.png

"We are honored to be named as one of the top 50 community banks in the nation," states Robert Narmont, Chairman. "Our strength and performance are attributed to our strong balance sheet management and the dedication of our entire UCB team. We have over 500 employees working together in 35 communities that make recognition like this possible,” shares Narmont. “Each one plays an important role in our success, and I am proud of their hard work and commitment to excellence on behalf of our customers.”

S&P Global Market Intelligence ranks institutions based on returns, growth and funding but places a premium on the strength and risk profile of balance sheets. To compile this ranking, S&P Global Market Intelligence calculated scores for each company based on seven metrics: pretax return on average assets, cost of funds, operating revenue growth, net charge-offs to average loans and leases ratio, nonperforming assets and loans 90 days or more past due as a percentage of total assets, gross loans & leases and held to maturity securities to total deposits, and adjusted tangible common equity to tangible assets ratio.

“As a community bank, our focus has always been on building long-term relationships with our customers and our communities. Being a well-capitalized, high-performing bank is how we earn and maintain the trust of our clients,” says Narmont. “This recognition amongst our peers, nationally, helps provide further confirmation for our customers, locally, that their hard-earned money and financial futures are safe and sound with us.”

In addition to this national ranking, United Community Bank was recently named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Regional Banks in 2024 and maintains its stellar 5-star rating by Bauer Financial. Furthermore, UCB Banks have consistently been voted "Best Bank" by readers and listeners of numerous respected community publications and radio stations.
